To ask the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government pursuant to the answer of 5 July 2011, Official Report, column 1143W, whether the sources of low-carbon energy generation to be used by his Department as a means of reducing its carbon dioxide emissions are to be manufactured in the UK.

The Department does not hold information on whether the sources of low-carbon energy generation to be used by the Department will be manufactured in the UK. Future energy generation contracts will be let by Cabinet Office on behalf of central Government as part of their Common Commodities Programme.
