No discussions have taken place with representatives of the United States Government about the possibility of a UK withdrawal from the F-35 aircraft programme. As my right honourable friend the Secretary of State for Defence confirmed in the other place on 18 July 2011 (Hansard, Commons, col. 643¬645), we remain committed to the Joint Strike Fighter programme.
