To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs what arrangements her Department has in place for the transition of Leader funding applications from regional development agencies to her Department from 1 July 2011.

Management of the Leader approach and the ongoing Rural Development Programme for England (RDPE) delivery functions transferred from the regional development agencies to DEFRA on 1 July. DEFRA RDPE delivery teams are in touch with local action groups to ensure a smooth transition to the new delivery arrangements that minimises disruption to customers and maintains the momentum of expenditure to improve agricultural competitiveness and support rural businesses and rural communities.
