To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs what recent discussions her Department has had with the European Commission on the matching criteria for Leader funding.

Officials have had discussions in the European Commission's Rural Development Committee on revised guidance on the management of the Leader approach, which includes some potential simplifications. There have been no specific discussions on match funding. Officials are now assessing the implications of the proposed changes to the guidance and will be discussing these with local action groups.
