To ask the Secretary of State for Defence how much was spent on hotel accommodation for staff of the (a) Met Office and (b) Hydrographic Office in the last 12 months.

Met Office spend on hotel accommodation cannot be identified separately from total spend on subsistence.

The UK Hydrographic Office spent £284,243 on hotel accommodation for employees in the period 1 July 2010 to 30 June 2011.
