We enjoy good diplomatic relations with the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). We have an active embassy in Kinshasa which engages regularly with the Government of DRC. The Under-Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, my hon. Friend Mr Bellingham, visited the DRC in July 2010 and has met the DRC Foreign Minister three times in the last 12 months.

We are a major bilateral donor to DRC. The Department for International Development has recently announced an increase in development funding to provide £790 million to the DRC over the next four years.
