To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs what discussions she has had with the Chancellor of the Exchequer on wage levels in farming communities.

DEFRA Minsters have had no direct discussions with the Chancellor of the Exchequer concerning wage levels in farming communities. However, the Annual Survey of Hours and Earnings (ASHE) run by the Office for National Statistics provides data on wage levels in agriculture and allows direct comparison with other sectors.
