To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs

(1) how much her Department spent on consultants as part of the preparation of the Anaerobic Strategy Document;

(2) what the cost was of producing the Anaerobic Strategy Document.

DEFRA spent £4,600 on external costs (printing, meetings etc.), plus dedicated staff resources, to produce the Anaerobic Digestion Strategy and Action Plan. No consultants were used in the production of the document.
