Communities and Local Government written question – answered at on 28 June 2011.
To ask the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government what criteria the Valuation Office Agency applies in determining the order in which valuation appeal hearings are to be heard.
The arrangement for the listing of appeals is a statutory duty of the President of the Valuation Tribunal for England—Regulation 5 of The Valuation Tribunal for England (Council Tax and Rating Appeals)(Procedure) Regulations 2009—and not the Valuation Office Agency. Appeals are listed within six weeks of the Valuation Office Agency's target date under the programming scheme they adopt.
