To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs what fisheries-specific grant-in-aid her Department provided to the Environment Agency in each of the last five financial years; and how much such funding she has allocated for 2011-12.
In 2006-07 and 2007-08, DEFRA provided £5.892 million grant in aid in each year to the Environment Agency specifically for fisheries. Since 2008-09, fisheries grant in aid has been combined with the Environment Agency's other funding from DEFRA, and the Environment Agency has continued to deliver equivalent outcomes.
