Transport written question – answered at on 27 June 2011.
To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what estimate he has made of the cost to the public purse of vandalism of public transport vehicles in each of the last five years.
The Department for Transport does not hold the information requested. These services are provided by a large number of different operators and costs from vandalism form part of the operating costs and will fall to individual operators. There is therefore no direct cost to the public purse.
