Women and Equalities written question – answered at on 22 June 2011.
To ask the Minister for Women and Equalities what steps her Department is taking to reduce the incidence of hate crime against people with a learning disability.
Everyone should have the freedom to live their lives free from fear of targeted hostility or harassment, and the Government takes all forms of hate crime very seriously, including those committed against people with a learning disability. We are working with the police, disabled people's organisations and others to improve the reporting and recording of disability hate crime, and to better protect repeat and vulnerable victims.
