To ask Her Majesty's Government, further to the Written Answer by Earl Attlee on 7 June (WA 118), on which proposed routes to be served by Intercity Express Project Passenger trains will bimodal versions be used to allow for diversions on non-electrified routes during service disruptions and maintenance on the main routes.

Bimodal trains will be capable of operating on all main diversionary routes on both the GW and EC mainlines, irrespective of whether these routes are electrified or not.
