To ask the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change what recent discussions he has had with the European Commission on steps to reduce the cost of capital for developing renewables.

DECC consistently promotes a market-based, predictable and stable regulatory regime at the EU level as a crucial means to help reduce cost of capital and incentivise the significant amounts of private sector investment in renewables which is necessary to achieve the EU’s 2020 targets.
