To ask the Secretary of State for Transport if he will assess (a) the capacity of the Llanrwst passing loop on the Conwy Valley line and (b) the resource implications of increasing the capacity of the line.

The operation of passenger rail services on the Conwy Valley line is a devolved matter for the Welsh Assembly Government (WAG).

The Secretary of State for Transport, Mr Hammond, has not been asked by WAG to assess the capacity of the route.
