To ask the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills how many apprentices there are in each Government Department.

The latest available data collected by Government Skills cover apprenticeship starts during the period April 2010 to March 2011. During this period there were a total of 2,120 apprenticeship starts within Government Departments.
