To ask the Secretary of State for Health what mechanisms are in place to prevent regional variation in the operation of the Cancer Drugs Fund.

The Department published “Guidance to support operation of the Cancer Drugs Fund in 2011-12” on 23 March 2011. The guidance is intended primarily for strategic health authorities and their clinically-led panels.

A copy of the guidance has already been placed in the Library.
