To ask the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change whether he has undertaken any analysis of the role of distributed energy from sites greater than 5MW in capacity as part of the Electricity Market Reform project.

We consulted on Electricity Market Reform in December 2010. We are currently developing the White Paper which will set out our proposals. We recognise the importance of generation and supply at all scales in order to meet our long-term objectives for decarbonising electricity generation, ensuring security of supply and managing increasing demand for electricity. This includes consideration of the role of distributed energy.
