The regulations transposing the revised Waste Framework Directive (2008/98/EC) in England and Wales came into force on 29 March 2011 and no assessment has yet been made of their implementation. Article 37 requires member states to submit reports on their implementation of the directive to the European Commission every three years and the first report must be submitted by 30 September 2013. The transposing regulations will be monitored in order to prepare that report and will be reviewed in the light of the report that is submitted.
