To ask the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change whether discussions at (a) ministerial and (b) official level were held between his Department and the Treasury prior to the announcement of changes to the oil and gas tax regime in the 2011 Budget.

The Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change, my right hon. Friend Chris Huhne, and I have regular discussions with Treasury colleagues on a range of issues, and officials have regular contacts with their opposite numbers.
