To ask the Secretary of State for Health for what reasons local HealthWatch bodies are not to be covered by the Freedom of Information Act 2000; and if he will make a statement.

Subject to the parliamentary process, local HealthWatch organisations will be public-facing bodies and will need to be transparent to its local communities. The Department is considering adding local HealthWatch organisations to the schedule of the Freedom of Information Act.
