To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions pursuant to the answer of 12 May 2011, Official Report, column 1340W, on winter fuel payments, what the birthday date for qualification for winter fuel allowance will be for (a) men and (b) women in each of the next 15 years following enactment of the proposals set out in the Pensions Bill 2011.

The age at which winter fuel payments can be received is increasing in line with the women’s state pension age.

Following Royal Assent, the changes to state pension age set out in the Pensions Bill 2011 would mean that the next 15 years of qualifying birth dates for winter fuel payments will be as set out in the following table. The dates are the same for men and women.
