To ask Her Majesty's Government what is the value to the Scottish economy of the Faslane naval base and ancillary facilities.

There are approximately 6,300 personnel employed at Her Majesty's Naval Base (HMNB) Clyde. This includes service personnel, Ministry of Defence civilian personnel and contractors. Many more people and companies provide support to the activities at the base and thereby generate economic benefits to the Scottish economy. However, the department does not collect data on the economic benefits deriving from the activities at HMNB Clyde, and information could only be gathered at disproportionate cost.
