To ask Her Majesty's Government what representations they have made to the Government of Zimbabwe along with international partners to allow international observation of their forthcoming election.

No date has been set for elections in Zimbabwe. Effective monitoring will be an important element of a credible poll. International observers require a formal invitation from the Government of Zimbabwe. The authorities are aware that the United Kingdom and international partners stand ready to participate in an international monitoring effort.
