To ask the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government how many firefighters in each region have been injured as a result of an assault while on duty in each of the last three years.
Figures for the total number of firefighters injured as a result of assault while on duty are not held centrally.
Numbers of firefighters injured as a result of an attack en route to or at an incident are available for periods since April 2009. These are shown in the following table by Fire and Rescue Authority and statistical region for 2009-10 and 2010-11.
