To ask the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change how many households in Sunderland he estimates were living in fuel poverty in 2009-10.

In 2008, the latest year for which data is available, the number of households living in fuel poverty in the Sunderland local authority was estimated to be around 24,400. This is equivalent to around 20.6% of households in Sunderland.
