The supply of professional development loans by retail banks is a matter for those banks.

Neither the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills, my right hon. Friend Vince Cable, nor I have therefore discussed the matter with the Chancellor of the Exchequer, my right hon. Friend Mr Osborne.

Retail banks do deliver the professional and career development loans (PCDLs) scheme on behalf on the Department. There are no plans to withdraw this scheme.
