To ask Her Majesty's Government what discussions they have had with the Scottish Government to ensure that, in anticipation of the end of the current franchise agreement with First ScotRail in 2014, planning is in hand to continue the Caledonian sleeper service with modern rolling stock and ancillary equipment.

No discussions have been held with the Scottish Government on this subject. The Caledonian Sleeper service is sponsored by Transport Scotland, not by the Department for Transport.
