To ask Her Majesty's Government what discussions they have had with the Government of Ireland regarding holding a homecoming march past by the Royal Irish Rangers on their return from Afghanistan.

There have been no discussions between Foreign and Commonwealth Office Ministers and the Government of the Republic of Ireland regarding a homecoming march by the Royal Irish Rangers on their return from Afghanistan. The issue of a homecoming march was discussed in the other place by my right honourable friend the Prime Minister on 27 April 2011 (Hansard, Commons, col. 174 to 175).
