Energy and Climate Change written question – answered at on 9 May 2011.
To ask the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change what priorities he has set for the forthcoming UN Climate Change Conference in Durban.
The Government are committed to working towards an ambitious global legally binding climate deal that will limit emissions and keep global average temperature rises to below 2(o) above pre-industrial levels. We will be working with our international partners, both in the European Union and bilaterally, to make progress in implementing the agreements reached at Cancun and to secure further practical progress by the time of the next Conference of Parties in Durban in November this year.
