There are currently 3,720 staff slots in the European External Action Service (EEAS). The 2012 draft Budget includes plans for 27 new posts. These, and any future additional staff slots would have to be agreed by the EU member states. We are pressing the EEAS to adhere to the agreed principle of budget neutrality.
