The Government, through our Embassy in Ankara, has regular contact with the Peace and Democracy Party (BDP), who are leading the protests. Our Embassy will continue to maintain contact with BDP leaders, particularly in the run-up to the elections in June. We have no plans, however, to make contact with the individuals leading the protests in Diyarbakir and other towns in Turkey where protests are taking place.
