To ask Her Majesty's Government how many legal challenges have been made in the past year to the Department for Communities and Local Government's compliance with equality legislation; what were the outcomes; and what remedial action, if any, has been initiated.

There are four legal challenges which have been made in the past year to the department, three of which claimed discrimination on grounds of race and one on the grounds of age. Three of these claims are continuing and one has been withdrawn.

Any remedial action will be considered, if necessary, when any outstanding claims have been concluded.
