Business, Innovation and Skills written question – answered at on 9 March 2011.
To ask the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills what account his Department's approval process for local enterprise partnerships takes of the capacity of applicants to reflect the diversity of the geographic areas which they cover.
As set out in the White Paper on Local Growth the Government will normally expect to see business representatives form half the board, with a prominent business leader in the chair. We would want to see these board members drawn from small enterprises through to large businesses, and representing the key sectors in the area.
