To ask the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government what information he holds on the level of provision made by local authorities from the transitional grants for redundancy payments.

Work force redundancy decisions and payments in local government are a matter for individual local council employers within discretionary powers provided by the Local Government (Early Termination of Employment) (Discretionary Compensation) (England and Wales) Regulations 2006. Information is not collected centrally about discretionary payments made by local authorities under these provisions.
