The Government announced on 7 January that the Freedom of Information Act will be extended to the Financial Ombudsman Service. There are currently no plans to make the Financial Services Compensation Scheme subject to the Act. We will, however, keep the scope of the Act under review, and may consider its extension to further bodies in the future.
