To ask the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills what assessment he has made of the merits of introducing a food prices code adjudicator for the dairy industry.

None. In August 2010, the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills announced that the Government will establish the groceries code adjudicator to enforce the Groceries Supply Code of Practice (GSCOP). The code covers the groceries supply chain, including the dairy sector, to large retailers. The Government have not considered a specific code of practice to cover food prices for the dairy industry.
