"Health for heroes" is an informal reference that has recently been applied by the press to the medical care provided for the armed forces and ex-service personnel, with a particular emphasis on mental health care. We have a wide range of current and planned initiatives across Government to support serving and former members of the armed forces, such as the 'Fighting Fit' review by my hon. Friend Dr Murrison and our enhancements to health care services as part of the Strategic Defence and Security Review. Any enhancements to health care for serving members of the armed forces will be applicable wherever they are based in the UK, including Scotland and Wales.
