To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department if she will assess the compatibility of her Department's conduct of the consultation process on its policy on human trafficking with the Government's Big Society initiative; and if she will make a statement.

Internal work has been progressing on the human trafficking strategy and we are now in the process of discussing it with non-governmental organisations.

The voluntary sector plays a key role in the provision of support to victims of human trafficking. We are strongly supportive of this role and will continue to work in partnership with voluntary organisations to reduce the incidence of human trafficking.
