To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what account her figures for the losses per month by the Forensic Science Service (FSS) take of the likely savings arising from the closure of FSS laboratories at Chepstow, Chorley and Birmingham.

The Forensic Science Service (FSS) operating losses of £2 million a month, which we referred to in our announcement on 14 December 2010, are current losses and therefore do not take into account any savings delivered through planned FSS site closures, nor do they take into account further likely declines in FSS' business.
