Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs written question – answered at on 25 January 2011.
To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what recent discussions he has had on the human rights situation in Sri Lanka.
The human rights situation in Sri Lanka remains a concern following the end of the military conflict. We continue to raise our concerns both bilaterally with the Government of Sri Lanka and in concert with EU colleagues. My right hon. Friend the Foreign Secretary and I discussed with the Sri Lankan Foreign Minister in October 2010 the importance of improving the human rights situation in Sri Lanka.
