To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland how many (a) women and (b) men have been appointed to public duties by his Department since May 2010.

The Secretary of State recently appointed Mrs Paula Sharp as a member of the Boundary Commission for Scotland from 1 January 2011 for a period of four years. He also re-appointed an existing Commissioner, Mr Ken McDonald, from 7 June 2011 for a further four years.
