To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what recent assessment she has made of the level of gang-related youth violence in London.

We engage in regular discussion with the Mayor of London and the Metropolitan police and I know that both are strongly committed to tackling this problem. The Government also takes gang violence very seriously. New civil injunctions to tackle gangs will go live nationally on 31 January. I know that partners in London are already looking at the potential for using these new powers.
