To ask Her Majesty's Government whether they plan to cut fuel duty if the cost of fuel rises beyond a certain point.

In the June Budget the Government asked the Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR) to undertake an assessment of the effect of oil price fluctuations on the public finances. The OBR published its report on 14 September 2010.

The Chancellor keeps all taxes under review. The Government are considering the OBR's assessment as part of the usual Budget process
