The UK Government continue to be committed to polio eradication as an important global goal. The Department for International Development (DfID) is currently reviewing its aid programme to determine how we can achieve better value for money for the taxpayer and accelerate progress towards achieving all the millennium development goals.

Once the department has considered the findings from its bilateral and multilateral aid reviews, a decision will be made on future funding commitments to polio eradication.
