To ask Her Majesty's Government what they forecast the cost to be of the election of a police and crime commissioner for Cumbria in 2012.

As the Government set out in the impact assessment for the Police Reform and Social Responsibility Bill, we forecast the cost of police and crime commissioners elections to around £50 million in 2012 across England and Wales. Estimates have been done on a national basis and figures are not available for each force area.
