To ask the Secretary of State for International Development what steps his Department is taking to raise the profile of sanitation and water through the Sanitation and Water for All initiative; and if he will make a statement.

The Department for International Development (DFID) is a member of the Sanitation and Water for All initiative (SWA) Steering Committee. Having played a leadership role in establishing of SWA, DFID has recently taken on the role of vice chair of the partnership. We are driving the initiative forward to help the most off-track countries to make tangible progress in water and sanitation.
