To ask Her Majesty's Government what is the estimated cost of putting into effect Section 9(5)(a) of the Equality Act 2010, which gives power to a Minister of the Crown to "provide for caste to be an aspect of race".

Officials are currently assessing the costs and benefits related to exercising the power in Section 9(5)(a) of the Equality Act 2010 and the Government will consider this work when they respond in due course to the National Institute of Economic and Social Research's report on caste discrimination and harassment in Great Britain.
