International Development written question – answered at on 21 December 2010.
To ask the Secretary of State for International Development how much his Department has spent on agricultural development in Kenya in each of the last five years.
The Department for International Development (DFID) has not directly supported agricultural development in Kenya over the last five years, for reasons of effective division of labour among donors.
DFID does centrally fund agricultural development in sub-Saharan Africa, some of which benefits Kenya. Such multi-country support includes £7 million to the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA) and £37.5 million to the African Enterprise Challenge Fund (AECF), some of which relates to agricultural development.
