To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what discussions he has had with the Northern Ireland Executive on the effects of the outcomes of the comprehensive spending review on the contribution of frontline community policing to tackling security threats in Northern Ireland; and if he will make a statement.

I meet regularly with the Minister of Justice to discuss policing the security threat. I am clear that we have secured a fair settlement for Northern Ireland as part of the spending review, which will allow the PSNI to carry out its duties. This Government will ensure that the PSNI are equipped to deal with the threat.
